Waste Stream: Paper

  • NEPA greening-hotels waste guidance

NEPA guidance recommends hotel waste separation, composting, cooking-oil recycling, soap and shampoo recovery and appropriate handling of glass, batteries and hazardous materials. This is guidance rather than collection. Use it as a hotel audit checklist and confirm current regulatory requirements separately.

  • Sandals and Beaches hospitality waste recovery network

Current corporate reporting describes composting, recycling, donations and transformation of waste, including food-waste links with farmers and used-oil recovery. These are internal multi-resort systems and potential partnership routes, not public intake. Confirm each Jamaica property, contracted handlers, farmer destinations, measured volumes and interest in shared reporting or surplus-material exchange.

  • Hyatt Rose Hall hotel recycling programme

Green Globe reporting documents an onsite sorting station and baler plus recycling of packaging, used oil, toners and cartridges. Treat as an internal resort programme. Confirm current certification, downstream contractors, accepted categories, measured volumes and whether reusable goods or food surplus have separate routes.

  • LASCO Red Hills Road workplace recycling station

LASCO Financial’s 2025 report identifies a designated recycling station at Red Hills Road operated with sister companies in support of Recycling Partners of Jamaica. The report does not state that the public may use it or list every accepted material. Confirm access, exact accepted streams, hours, RPJ collection schedule and whether LASCO manufacturing and distribution waste is consolidated there.
